Auksuciai Foundation - Lithuania

The US non-profit Auksuciai Foundation was established in 1999 to help small-scale Lithuanian farmers become more self-sufficient and competitive in a free market economy.

For five years,  the Rotary Club of Millbrae has supported activities from direct donations, through Matching Grants, an agricultural demonstration and a research farm at Auksuciai, Northern Lithuania.  The project was established by Burlingame retired engineer and Millbrae Rotarian Vytautas Sliupas, and depends upon donations from around the world.  Learn more about this Burlingame based non-profit Auksuciai Foundation by clicking here  to visit their website.

Safe Water and Sanitation for Santo Domingo de Guzman School in Puyo and Amazon communities, Ecuador

In late 2007, the Millbrae Rotary Club entered into an agreement to partner with two Rotary Clubs in Ecuador and three Bay Area Rotary clubs in Burlingame, Half Moon Bay and Central Marin to sponsor a $29,700 safewater and sanitation project.

The Health and Humanities Project was started in November 2008 under the guidance of the Puyo Rotary Club, Ecuador.   The project was implemented in 2009-2010.  Rotarians from all partner clubs look forward to visiting Ecuador to tour the completed facilities provided under this grant.

Richard Chinn was the lead Rotarian who made the initial contacts with the Ecuador partner clubs and completed the Matching Grant applications, which were approved by The Rotary Foundation in April, 2008.  The project was  reported to TRF as completed and was closed out on June 3, 2010.
